The thing is, it was pretty accepted for a long time in many a parts of the world. Hell, ancient Greece was fine with you taking a young boy in.

Yes it's always been a quasi-Christian/Old Testament thing that was opposed to it.

In my previous life it was the Rumble in the Jungle.

In this life when Buster Douglas beat Mike Tyson in Japan.

How TARP wasn’t a blank check bailout Joe Blow seems to think it was, and how narrowly it averted a global liquidity crisis that could have made all of the doomsday gold hoarders really happy.

It's a tossup for me between the Regatta in Lake Arthur and the Fur and Wildlife festival in Cameron.

So once you hit 16 you stop maturing? Since you act like a 16 year old and all...

I ask because I was just a little younger than you and don't remember it being that much of a deal, at least in the old South where I grew up.

I remember it being in the paper the next day and some mention of it but I don't remember it moving the needle much. I would imagine in places like Boston, NY, Chicago and Pittsburgh it would have been much bigger. I seem to remember it being discussed more in 89/90 when the Wall came down and there was much more sentimental discussions that went on.

I agree with this and I have only watched a few hockey games live.. Use to go to the Baton Rouge Kingfish games. They were a team in some shitty independent league, but it was fun to watch.

Lake Placid, NY is essentially Canadian. They might as well just move in.

That said, it's beautiful territory. It amazes me that a small village of 2000 or so hosted the Winter Olympics, but they did it right.

That's not geopolitics....that's pop culture/politics with a geographical spin in the sense that it deals with two different countries...
