Bro. We had the same discussion on the OT like a week or two ago.

A prominent dude promised basically the same thing in 2016 and here we are in 2025 and radiologist are busier than they’ve ever been. So much so that they’re going home at night and working extra.

I was appalled to learn that EMTs only average a salary of $41,000 a year.

What’s so appalling? It doesn’t take much to be an EMT.

I'd argue real estate agents are overpaid because we (public) allow them to get a consistent commission for minimal work.

There are agents who put in the work. They'll do heavy in person scouting, schedule and meet with contractors and inspectors, advise on renovations, etc.

Soccer moms who just bully people into 3-6% for practically nothing and treat their respective neighborhoods like a mafia boss are definitely overpaid. But you don't have to use them, and if you do, you can make them work. Most people just don't.

Entertainers (athletes, actors, musicians, etc...) are overpaid. Yes, I know they get paid what the market dictates, but it goes to show how disgustingly out of whack society's priorities are.

All consultants are overpaid.

The statement is too general.

Does this consultant engineer or are they just a product consultant?

Second, you get what you pay for. You go cheap? That’s on management or project management.

Third, some clients run into current market limitations and are mad that there isn’t an easy button to give their product/company an avant-garde advantage. Again, also lack of vision or knowledge of management. Advantages take time to build.

I know Acadian pays their people dog shite. And I know they have been unable to have an EMT at all the high school football games, but its because people are not going to work there because they don't pay their people well. And as much as they charge they should be able to pay them a fair rate.

You realize how many people are transported by ambulances and never pay the bill?

Management Consultants.

They should just turn over current management instead of paying for this. Just money on opinions of what they should do but ultimately can not do anything with the new information they get.

Just turn them over and find someone hungry to prove themselves. Usually works out better.

shite, I felt overpaid for every job I had, whether it was below minimum wage when it was illegal for me to work as a child, up to when I retired with a total compensation of $300k per year.

Longer than that, but yes the need for radiologists will become less. I work in healthcare consulting and it's a real thing we discuss when valuing radiology groups, etc.

The AI just helps them right now, but it's very good and will get exponentially better. It'll always need human oversight, but it won't be long before 1 radiologist can do the work that 4 are currently doing.

I give it 10 years though. Lots of regulations and clinical quality and medmal stuff that needs to be figured out.

Lots of boomers sold their groups to PE backed “Radiology Partners” (typically for half cash and half RP stock). Now the young guys in those groups work for less than non PE groups and the boomers sailed off into the sunset (though they will never likely be able to sell their RP stock). And RP is drowning in debt.

It doesn’t make any sense but that’s PE for you
