What if the wasp or yellow jacket could be domesticated and ridden?

dealing with swarms love bugs all over Galveston Island last weekend. Not sure they would dominate, but might make for an interesting party if life sized.

I am going with ants. The organization, teamwork and strength. We would all be fricked if they were human sized. The Queen, Drones, Workers and Soldier ants. Can you imagine a human sized leaf cutter ant, tearing off a 10' x 10' section of aluminum siding off and just walking away with it?
Who ya got?

Don't have to imagine - just check out the Chinese

I know spiders aren't insect, but I'd pick a black widow.
I saw one catch/eat a (baby) snake.

Could you imagine human sized June bugs and their dumbasses bumping into every light source imaginable and plunging us back into darkness?

Damn things were terrible this year. Sitting out on the back patio watching the game, drinking a few beers and these mf'rs keep crashing into my head.

A praying mantis is a bad mutha FK’r of a bug. They will take on anything.

They have had pictures of them killing small birds

None of them. They would weigh too much for their exoskeleton and their legs would collapse and/or their wings would be much too small for flight. It's the square-cube law of sizing. Now, shrink humans down to ant size...

Goddamn assassin bug. The only thing in my back yard I fear. So much pain. A giant one would basically walk around liquifying everyone from the inside out.

If I won the powerball, I would start a lab, engineering the growth rate of the praying mantis 25x.
Then unleash them on the world.

I just thought of a pile of human sized fire ants floating down some flood waters and that's freaky.

Maybe ants, but they'd fight each other a lot, too.

My money is on the centipede. Pick whichever species. They're incredibly fast and venomous.

This thread reminds me of the short story Let the Ants Try by Frederick Pohl under the pseudonym James MacCreigh.
