Those 100,000 were bussed to Houston and stayed there

Gentrification in Nola has definitely dragged Jefferson Parish down. A lot of the ghetto trash has moved to the Westbank or those shitty apartment complexes along I-10 in Metairie. The whites moving to Nola are unskilled liberal SJWs so the same old shitty politicians continue to get reelected and city continues to waddle in mediocrity. Overall, it's been a net negative to the metro area.

Quit your bitching and move to a real neighborhood

The Bywater was one of the first areas to witness gentrification.
Rent was $900 a month in 2005. Same building is over $1,700 now.

$900 in 2005 is about $1200 today.
Not dismissing your point, just putting some perspective.
Houses that were 50k in 2001 are now 500k easily. And in the same condition.

But look at most cities comparable to New Orleans that didn’t go through a hurricane and see what their rents area. I was told the same with Nashville and Austin. Most everywhere was considerably cheaper 15 years ago.

...what?
I mean, I'm not surprised to see someone here say that "liberal SJWs" are moving in, because that's just par for the course. But what makes them "unskilled"?

It just seems all my Nola friends are dating and marrying New Yorkers now. I guess they've been gentrified too.

That’s a about right. Average rents are between $1.50 to $2.00 a square ft in high demand areas. What’s the problem?

They aren’t STEM majors or know how to weld

Yeah, but almost double the value of a Bywater shotgun is kinda funny to me.
In portland I'm giving $3000 for my house now, so jokes on me. But I enjoy the privacy and legal cannabis.

Idiots.
But what do I know? I'm just a big city snob, apparently.
