I-10 through NM is pretty terrible. And the speed limit is 70-75 instead of 80 like it is in W TX.

I drove from Phoneix to El Paso in one day back in March. It made me realize just how beautiful and "crowded" Louisiana is. There may be 60-100 miles between towns. And grass is in patches at least 20 yards apart. Trees? Once you leave the saguaros behind, there's nothing taller than 1.5ft except for mile markers and exit signs.

ETA- I think I like the saguaros more than anything else on that trip those. Those are some goofy looking cactodes.

I drove from Tucson to BR a couple weeks ago and I got pretty good at zoning out for about 50 miles at a time. Definitely made the trip go by faster.

used to be San Antonio to El Paso, but now that there's no real enforced speed limit there, it should be more fun.

I-70 west out of Salina, Kansas to Denver is pretty bad. I look forward to the big windmills to break up the nothingness.

Highway 400 anywhere in Kansas is the worst stretch of boring that I've ever encountered though.

San Antonio to anywhere in West Texas is pretty bad as well. That was in my refereeing territory 10 years ago and I just about quit 3 weeks into the season. Nothing worse than driving 2 and a half hours into the abyss that is west Texas to call a JH football game when it's 100 degrees in August for $30.

fricking tractor-trailer nightmare this is.

once you get past little rock though...

all the tt traffic goes north or south at that point.
