i have heard those propane co2 mosquito killing burners work great but that seems like a lot of work to go to if just planting the right plants will work

Use this instead of companies like Mosquito Joe. Chemicals can be found online. Much cheaper than paying for the service in the long run.

I was going down this path until my wife convinced me that it wasn’t worth the cancer. I have guys spray my yard and it’s amazing that they don’t bother to wear any PPE. I had spec’d out tyvek suits and a breathing mask.

How do they work?

The Spartan Eradicators will come with a cap on the tube. In the tube is a powder mix of yeast, sugar, and some salt. You fill with warm water to a certain level on the tube and shake it up, then switch the tops and hang it. The warm water will make the yeast and sugar react and emit CO2, which attracts the mosquitoes. They are a mosquito trap. The spartan company hasn't exactly tried to hide any of this info. Go on the Home/Garden and Outdoors boards and do a search for "Spartan Eradicator". There's a few threads on there about them.

I have the Spartan things as well and was skeptical. But zero mosquito issues where I am usually getting eaten this time of year. Amazing because it seems low tech and the ingredients are basic.

Great stuff. Just sprayed around the house a few mins ago. Spray perimeter of my home 2-3 times/yr and zero bugs inside. Will also make ants change zip codes.

I hate to spray chemicals that kill bees/butterflies (apparently it sprays dawn/dusk when they aren't active).

Put up a couple of bat houses.
