Moshe Dayan has to be pretty high up on the most manly/macho guys ever list

Lately I've been on a bit of a kick reading up on middle eastern history. The last two books I've read (one on the history of Jerusalem and one on the 6 days war) have a good bit of information on Dayan.
Not saying the guy was always successful or that he was a good guy or anything, but the dude fought in pretty much every Israeli war from before there even was an Israel to the 1970's. He lost one eye in fighting. He was with Wingate. And he was pretty instrumental in Israel's stunning victory in 1967.

Total badass....read a couple of bios on him.
During the height of the Vietnam War during the heaviest combat, he wanted to see the American military in action for himself and take notes on how they were fighting the insurgency. He would go out to forward bases and actively go on patrols with American troops to get a firsthand look. No American general would ever consider doing that and they thought he was crazy.
