Too wet = higher crawfish prices
Too warm = higher crawfish prices
Too dry = higher crawfish prices
Too cold = higher crawfish prices

Of course not, because the Old River Control Station is not going to fail.

eventually the Low Sill Structure is going to give, maybe not soon, but none the less they need to rebuild the mother fricker and they know it

If ORCS doesn't fail eventually another section of the river levee will either before or after ORCS, creating another whole set of problems.

When the Mississippi River wants a more direct route to the gulf he will take it and no amount of man made concrete will stop it.

Really? There are far greater feats of engineering on this planet than that. You woefully underestimate the will and intellect of mankind

You woefully overestimate the United States Army Corp of Engineers.

Every knowledgeable scientist and engineer I have ever spoken with uses words like "eventually' and " inevitable". Not "never".

There will always big a bigger project flood than what ORCS was designed for given a long enough time frame. Everything fails eventually.

You're right. I stand corrected. They'll sit back and do nothing. Thanks for clearing that up.

When it decides to go they won't be able to stop it. Apparently you need to do some due diligence.

They'll sink whatever is necessary at ORCS to reroute to current route if ORCS fails.

If it fails it is too late. No way you will reroute back.

Doesn't matter which one. Either or turns Louisiana into Mississippi/Alabama.

So you believe if the Old River control structure fails, they will be able to pour concrete and reverse the route from almost directly south to the east?

And I'm being obtuse.

They'll sink 20,000 barges right there to reroute before they allow it to change course into the Atchafalaya.
