Probably a good thing considering the subject. As long as we don't get heavy rains in southern LA, the worst of it is probably behind Stephensville once the barge is in.

Kinda what I was thinking too. I know we built our pier at graveyard island based off records kept since ‘77 so it would never go under. Not only is pier under, the lights are now submerged too. Too many old guys from PP saying it’s the worst they ever seen to dismiss it. Hell even Stevie G’s is flooded.

They start slowly so they don’t drown any hogs.

Yea that’s news to me as well. June 2nd was supposed to be the earliest they’d open it.

Probably bad information. I don’t have any links or proof. Just gossip I suppose.

I heard that as well, but it's just gossip.

This is the only other "official" thing I've seen on FB:

quote:

FLOODING in House District 51:
I have just received confirmation that a barge will be placed in Bayou Chene ASAP and Morganza will be opened in 12-15 days.

Please share with those in Bayou Black, Gibson, Bayou L’Ourse, and any other local community that is experiencing flooding or is in danger of flooding when Morganza opens.

I will post more details when I receive them.

It’s not open. I went over it today going to Monterrey. That water is high though.

Think people may be seeing the seepage around it and thinking they are slowly opening

I thought one bay was open and by June 2nd will be opening many more.

One bay to drive the wildlife out slowly and prepare homeowners.
