Shaw back in the day rolled everyone until they had an in-house scumbag in Bryan Lazzzzzzar &’Mils Beg (i won’t spell their names on purpose, but people can see what happened at Shaw when they went against helping young men neing able to improve themselves wherelse they would have gotten lost in the public school system.. ANYONE WANT TO CHALLENGE ME ON THIS, I WELCOME!!!!!!
MANY big time players came out of that program and it was a good thing for decades and NO OTHER TEAMS NOR SCHOOL CHALLENGED SHAW ON A CONSISTENT BASIS!!!!!
SHAW OWNED THE CATHOLIC LEGUE, the best league in. the STATE & TOP 20 in USA TODAY FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME!
Apparently no one else challenged Shaw on spelling and grammar either.

Our little public HS in BFE had a girl get accepted to Columbia last year.
Our high school had a Sophmore get a perfect SAT score.

best league in the state - maybe the most balanced like the big 10 25 years without a championship big 10 1971 through 1997... 1987 through 2012. There is football outside of NOLA my man.

No real Catholic claims the Jesuits. All they do is push the LGBT and illegal immigration agenda onto the rest of us.
Their mouthpiece, America Magazine, is absolutely awful
Jesuit’s America Magazine

AMDG of 2001
To me the Catholic League will always be:
Jesuit
Brother Martin
Rummel
Holy Cross
St. Augustine
De La Salle
Shaw

I would’ve been a National Merit Semifinalist if I had been in the 5-year honors program at Jesuit and had teachers like McGannon. Instead, I was in the 4-year normal program and had teachers like Ray Coates.
I was lucky enough to have had both!
Coates for Algebra II sophomore year and McGannon for English V senior year!
There should be a movie made about those two- about as opposite as two old school teachers could be.

If you’re an upper tier Catholic grade school student in New Orleans you’re going to Jesuit
Nah brah, you're just not going to the public schools. BM, DLS, HC still exist and aren't filled with....those kids.... Hell, if you went to CBS and didn't want to go mainstream CD, BF, and Lusher are options before you panic and are forced to mingle with the Nouveau Riche on the northshore.

putting De La Salle in but not Shaw is comical..... Heck Chalmette may have won more Catholic league games than DLS did(post integration).

You sure about this?
Think they won football state title in 2014, and runner up 2 years ago.
Also won 2 of the last 3 state titles in baseball.
Probably a bunch more recently in soccer, cross country, lacrosse, etc
Yeaaaa Jesuit has been absolutely smoking Catholic in XC in the last 3 years. In 2021 Catholic finished 2nd to Jesuit but had almost 4x's the points, which is a complete arse whippin.
XC may not be a big sport to the large public schools(Ruston Notwithstanding) but it most certainly means a lot to these two schools.

Jesuit alums talking about their high school like most people talk about their college....a tale as old as time.

Mr. Coates is the letter G next to Y.A. Tittle
How many of y’all had an Algebra II teacher who wore an NFL Championship ring to class every day???

That's my bad. I knew I was missing one and it was Shaw. Funny since I went to Jesuit and lived on the Westbank.
