Things like this will get interesting once "not being able to ask if you're a felon/been arrested" goes mainstream.

Right. So let's just stop employing felons all together, so when they get out they have no way of reincorporating back into society and making a living. I wonder what would happen....
Just silly to try to pin any blame on Albertson's.

Well liberals dont want you to be able to ask if people have a criminal past on their applications.
this is what you get.
this is what you get.

There should be no lawsuits ever unless it’s doctors suing hospitals over non-competes or other doctors over surgery centers.

Of course not but you gave the typical Dem answer

But of course. That's their way.

All of the questions you asked will be answered during litigation. Do you think Albertsons is going to volunteer potentially damaging information willingly?
Also, Google "vicarious liability". I have no idea if this applies in Montana.

How is Albertsons at fault here?
Would they still be at fault if it happened on their property and he wasn’t an employee?
What about actions he takes off of their property during his time as an employee?
What about the actions of non-felon employees? The fact that he is a felon seems to be the driving force of many people’s arguments.

The only view I hold is that the one who committed the act is at fault.
I don’t see how Albertsons should be liable for employee actions that they didn’t support or have them perform.

shite they can be held liable by just putting a new grad on an audit that makes a mistake. Not even intent to mislead, but a genuine screw up by someone green.

yes, you. you're virtue signaling.

What degree of security, if any, should be provided by Albertsons in your view?
not hiring violent felons on parole would be my first thought to avoid having your customers at risk of death from your employees

Vicarious liability is a legal doctrine that holds the employer responsible for tortious acts and negligence of an employee.
I’d imagine whatever insurance is available has a criminal acts exclusion, though.

We elect lawyers to public office, who then pass laws friendly to lawyers. The ultimate cronyism.
We are an overly litigious society, but this case isn't one of those.
