If you roll doubles do you get to roll again?

Also, if you land on free parking do you get any money from the bank, and if so how much?

Not sure if the above are someone’s house rules, or legit rules. I’ve maintained most of the components except for the shoe, the car, a few hotels and the rule sheet.

Thanks in advance

Those are house rules.

I think the doubles rule is legit, but if you roll doubles twice in a row (could be thrice) you go to jail.

The free parking thing is just a (common) house rule.

Yes to doubles, and you get the amount of “tax” or penalty money that has been collected on “free parking”.

Free Parking is a House Rule, but doubles I believe is in the rule book.

Absolute state of those yarnheads who shoot for park place and boardwalk exclusively.

I eviscerate them every time.

Yes, but if you roll doubles 3 times in one turn you go straight to jail.

In the official rules, no. But we've always played house rules where you win money from the bank, I think $500.

We play that any fines/taxes go in the middle of the board. Land on free parking, you get it. It's a house rule, not official.

Yes and yes. Money collected for landing on free parking is 1/2 of the amount collected for players paying various fines and penalties.

Start the game with 500 in the free parking bank

I have recollections of this from my childhood I think. I like this rule and believe I will implement it in my house rules.

Thanks. Do you pass go and collect $200 or go straight to jail?

Rolling doubles gives you another roll, if you roll doubles 3x, you go to jail.

“Free Parking” is only from the pot in the middle. I believe the rules stipulate that there must be $100-$200 in the middle (from the bank) to “sweeten the pot”... thanks the only money from the bank that goes into “Free Parking”

Popular “House Rules” include things like “Every Community Chest & Chance cards that require a cash penalty/payment, instead of paying the bank, your penalty payment goes to the middle and is given for players who land on “Free Parking”.

I’ve never lost a game of monopoly.

Side note: I haven’t ever actually “finished” a game to completion, but I HAVE broken up with a girl after a game with her and her parents, haha)

"According to the space your token reaches, you may be entitled to
buy real estate or other properties — or obliged to pay rent, pay taxes,
draw a Chance or Community Chest card, “Go to Jail ® ,” etc.
If you throw doubles, you move your token as usual, the sum of the
two dice, and are subject to any privileges or penalties pertaining to
the space on which you land. Retaining the dice, throw again and
move your token as before. If you throw doubles three times in
succession, move your token immediately to the space marked “In
Jail”(see JAIL)."

"“FREE PARKING”… A player landing on this place does not receive
any money, property or reward of any kind. This is just a “free”
resting place."
