Light roast. I've tried various dark roasts and wasn't a fan.

I'm with you, I hate chicory. I usually buy Colombian whole beans and grind them in the morning. Roast doesn't matter to me.

I normally hit the "rehab" button on my coffee maker, also known as STRONG brew.
