Cop definitely had it out for her before she even rolled down the window

Because he asked her to roll down the tinted window, and he nicely said hey to her kids?

Yeah he wanted to beat the hell out of her from the get go!!!

Do you really think he had it out for her from the get go?

He chose to not hand her the ticket.... All he had to do was give her the ticket through the window slip and this whole event could have been avoided.

She chose to throw something at a cop in front of her kids. That's not worth it if you care about your kids. I don't care how upset you are. You have to expect what happens next after that. Especially after being warned. You even acknowledge she was warned with this

quote:

When she did roll down the window he then threatened to take her kids.

All she had to do was not thow something at him. If you care so much about your kids then suck it up and move on.

quote:

He knowingly threatened to take a pissed off woman's kids unprovoked because she had a slight attitude.

He told her what woud happen if she didn't comply by signing. Regardless if it's the law or not you can deal with that later.

People hating on the cop, but he let her see the kids and he also offered to put the cuffs in the front. He didn't have to do either. Especially the second.

quote:

Do you think that's going to piss her off more or calm her down? Knowing that kids are in the car and purposely antagonizing someone is ridiculous for a speeding ticket.

He told her what would go down and she chose to allow it to happen.

If you find it worth it to screw around after a warning with a cop then that's on you. It's one thing if she acted like this on her own, but she should consider being a mother first here and do whatever it takes to move along. Suck it up. It's not worth it, but if it is to people like you, then don't complain about what comes next.

I don't find giving attitude to be worth it, but cool if you do. So if you think he gave attitude back, so be it. She should have considered her kids and moved on.

Was he by the book Bob Dick Head? Yes.

Knowing when to just tolerate the guy, sign the ticket and move on is a level of maturity that comes with common sense.

He had her on his radar gun . Speed trap or not. Quota or not. It doesn't matter. Sign the ticket and move on.

Never get flippant with a cop no matter how much of a dick he is.

Also has anyone noticed that her husband could have cared less she was going to jail?

There’s something seriously wrong with women in this 35-40 year old range (+-5 years). They’re the entitled ones who are engrossed in social media and the Facebook life but are nutso and miserable in real life. And they’re the generation of helicopter parents who are ruining their kids. Turning their boys into a bunch of sissies and their girls into entitled brats.

He said there was a 55 and 40mph speed limit sign pretty close together. That can't be a school zone because I can't believe a school zone would be 40mph.

There are multiple schools in Floyd and Bartow Counties (GA) with school zone speed limits of 40 and higher. The normal speed limits in those roads are 55-65 mph. It isn’t unheard of for sure.

I expected this to be worse.

Honestly, the cop handled the entire situation poorly.

Yeah I mean don’t throw pens at cops but Jesus man you went through training to handle insane situations. Get a grip, pick the pen up, ask her if she wants him to explain how to pay it. If she says no then walk away. You have a gun and back up, she’s not a threat.

I will never get this.

I realize a non-moving violation is doing you a solid compared to a speeding ticket, but if they're trying to do you a solid for being polite, why write you anything at all? Are they monitored by higher ups and must write a ticket up when they stop you or something?

Excessive? No. The officer treated her properly. She earned that arrest and the collar had to be made quickly, decisively and forcefully.

Nope you guys have it all wrong. She was rude and uncooperative, then she chose to throw a pen at the officer in a fit of anger. She earned the arrest.

She made it clear that she was at that point tired of cooperating, so, the arrest had to be made forcefully. The police officer was forceful but not overly so.

Whenever an uncooperative suspect like is taken into custody after a battery on a peace officer, there is a measure of physical force imposed.

She got that force imposed and was taken into custody without incident. I'm sure that the criminal justice system will treat her leniently, but, she earned that arrest.

Nope. I don't care how pretty you are, if you choose to be rude to a police officer and throw a pen at him, you've committed simple battery and you have earned your arrest and being taken into custody.

I refuse to require our police officers to accept having things thrown at them as just a part of their job that they need to accept.

Felony assault by tossing a pen.

As a citizen, I refuse to require our police officers to have to endure and suffer things being thrown at them as a part of their job that they just have to accept and live with.

The Police officer in question would have been correct to ignore her pen throwing, but he is not required to ignore her pen throwing. It was in his proper discretion to make the arrest. IMHO he acted properly.

I refuse to require our police officer to have to accept and ignore things being thrown at them as part of their job. I refuse to require our police officers to accept being physically abused as part of their job description.

I hate both parties in this video

The cops dick must somehow be in negatives as far as inches long, sure she acted terrible but no need to take it quite that far could've just cuffed her, stern talking to, then let her go on her way with her kids (then again she never did change her attitude). Regardless cops still comes off as having little dick syndrome

On the other hand I absolutely cannot stand it when people do not consider how their actions affect their kids. No reason to act like she acted even if the kids weren't in the car let alone with them being in the car

I'm also confused about what he said when he had her sign the ticket. I thought for sure every time I've ever been asked to sign one or seen someone asked to sign one they always say "this isn't an admission of guilt" as obviously court is the place for that but this officer makes it clear that it "IS an admission of guilt". I'd be uneasy about admitting guilt on the side of the road as well but still wouldn't have acted like she did especially with my kids in the car
