You just made the Fascist Progressives cum in their pants.
Tell me how to stop this problem without expanding governmental power, which would be fascism itself.
Also, regulating businesses is a progressives wet dream, so your example is both fascist AND progressive.
Good job. Good effort.

What’s new is the application.
Uh, casinos have applied this tech to kick people they banned out of casinos. Same as MSG is doing here.

Well it's not a simple issue to deal with.
MSG is a private company who can ban whomever they want. They actually have a legitimate reason to ban this woman.
I imagine most people in this thread throwing a temper tantrum lie to themselves and claim they're for limited government, but in this very thread they're asking for more government in one of the most progressive ways possible (regulating private business).

Facial recondition is crazy. Have y'all been through the unmanned border security kiosks?
You don't even show your passport. You look at the screen it takes a picture of you. Then your passport info comes on the screen. Green you continue on. Red you go see a person.

Also. They had good reason to deny her. She's an attorney working for a firm suing the management of the arena.

Won’t be long until this is widely used by police for identifying and locating even low level criminals with warrants etc.
This tech has been around a long time and is being sold to and used in places you might not expect….

It was later revealed that the reason Conlon was not allowed into the performance was because she works as an attorney for a New Jersey-based law firm that is involved in personal injury litigation against MSG Entertainment, which owns Radio City.
Womp womp. Actions have consequences, Counselor Pantsuit.

Seems pretty petty and vindictive, considering how far down the roster they had to go for this lady to even be on their radar.
Where did they get facially recognizable photos of this far down the roster attorney so as to be in their rejection database?
This case is fascinating.

A “private” company who can just ban whoever they want? Nice. Maybe take a step back and reflect on what you are saying.

Until that person is in a protected class. Then we’ll see the government step in

They are using license plate readers to catch hit and run drivers and other offenders. I can see that being more widely used. They can legit track pretty much anyone going into and out of every area.

I’m sure many in Germany felt that way about the Jews.

I have no problem with the technology. I have problems with the uses and the fact that it can be abused by bad actors and in bad ways. There is no way that it will not be.
There are some great uses but so many negatives.
We definitely lose a little of our privacy.

I think they gain access to the passport data base. When i went on a cruise my passport photo came up on the scanner.
I'm sure they can gain access to OMV records. I mean anyone can pay and do a back check on a plate or a driver's license. Images may be similar.
