It's been a long time since I studied this stuff in school so I could be wrong. But I'm pretty sure the longer you leave undescended testes in place the higher the risk of dysfunction/nonfunction and development of testicular cancer.
Does she want to wait till these kids are 18 years old to give proper consent? By that time it's a moot point.
Or does she think 5 years old are capable or sorting through the facts and making an informed decision?
