I just tried. I put like ten bucks in my account the other day just So i could open it. Well to use the promotional 200 bucks you have to have at least 40 dollars in your account.

My debit card was compromised a week ago and the new one hasn't came in yet. Guess it wasn't meant to be at this point in time.

You get a 300 dollar head start with Caesars and 100 with Fanduel. I mean what could possibly ever go wrong?

I put $100 in caesars a few months ago. Just been sitting there. Now they gave me $400 extra. I bet $500 on the Bengals tommorow. I'm out if they lose or win. Just want waned to try it.

:sigh:

Who cares? Remember personal accountability?
Bet, enjoy yourself, do it like an adult. It’s not anyones job to worry about or to prevent others from doing what they want in fear of trying to “protect” them. People can make their own choices.

I mean that’s one way to look at it…but societies rather we agree or not have to save some individuals from themselves for the betterment of said society…

I can see it going bad.
I have two apps and placed small bets with high reward. I can see people getting addicted to it.
Though I'm still playing with the $100 I started with a while back. I just grew out betting under dogs on the moneyline last few weeks.
I went today and turned in my last slips for cash. I'm only doing the online thing now. Too much ax pain to park. Wait for shuttle, walk to casino. Wait in line. Place bet. Find out they can't take all your prop bets. Get tickets. Leave. Wait for shuttle in cold. Shuttle to stop. Walk to car.

Or I can tap a few buttons.

Bengals at +$285 they gonna win. Take the points and the small pay if you scared.

If you want small bets that can return huge. Look for exacta parlays.
Pick the actual teams in the superbowl or the actual score from the games will sometimes pay +$30000 that's $1500 return for a $5 bet. Look for those. I like to bet $25 worth of those at least. It's like playing the numbers in roulette. You may not ever hit. But when you do you hit big.

For the betterment of society? “For the greater good?” Nah frick that. Freedom of choice> nanny state choosing what and what isn’t ok for us to participate in.

Alcohol, tobacco, etc, etc is legal. Just those two things have caused a lot of problems for a lot of people.

Drugs, which isn't legal, causes a lot of problems for a lot of people.

Sure legalizing sports betting and having apps to use to place bets will make it easier for people, but you think no one was betting on sports already?

If there is a demand for something it will be available.. Legally or illegally. People should only play with an amount they can afford to lose and there are ways to stretch your money. Don't bet big, stay away from parleys and prop bets.

At least this way, people can't get credit, lose it all then end up being in debt with someone who isn't fricking around.

Oh, look I am not saying it will not. I think it's inevitable, I am just saying that people have been getting themselves in bad situations from betting illegally for a long time.

If anything, at least there are limits in how much you can deposit.. Well at least on the one I use.. Draftkings. Well there is a limit, but I think its a limit to the amount you can deposit at one time.

Then with people getting notifications from their banks if there is a charge for over a certain amount, etc might play a small factor in keep some people in check, but I just don't think its the government's job to tell people what they can or can't do.
