The consensus from the locals seems to be that Angel Fire>>>>>>>>Taos for skiing. Double check and make sure they actually have snow before booking. Snow at Christmas isn't as sure a thing as it is in Colorado or Utah.
found Angelfire runs to be not all that great at all, and while they are open at night, it's only one lift up and back on down it goes.
Taos was more fun for me...

I skied Santa Fe on Christmas day many years ago. The drive from the city to the mountain was not fun during a snow storm but it was good skiing. Went to Taos the next day and had a great time. Good restaurants in both places.

I've skied Taos a bunch of times. It's always been awesome. We usually go around Mardi Gras though, so idk about the snow conditions at Christmas time.

Red River at least 7-8 times. Great family place. What do you want to know ?

I've been skiing there for the past 3 years during Christmas because some family has property in Eagle Nest. I recommend it.
Angel Fire is solid and has something for everyone.
I don't think you should go to Red River unless you already know how to ski. The trails are pretty steep, and icy imo.
I've never been to Taos ski resort but I hear its great.

I skied in north New Mexico. I forget the name, somewhere not far from Taos I think. It was a bit hard icy in February. Better than nothing but way inferior to Colorado.

According to the family, its already snowed several times down in the valley btw. Its shaping up to be a pretty good season.

Red River is decent. Not as good as Skiing in Co, but still good.
