It won’t be long before you can get a 4 year degree at a public university here on the public dime, we already have that for 2 years at community colleges.
Do you think that's a bad thing? I think it's a great thing.

I'd like to see it only in degree programs that have a high demand for new employees. This will incentivize ppl away from attaining useless degrees.

Once you see the Mitsubishi logo in the middle of the stars on the Tennessee state flag, you can never un-see it.

Mitsubishi had a lot of quality issues through the years, would think their market share is low. Of note, I did have a brand new Mitsubishi in 1985, first new car I ever owned. Lot of mechanical issues, which I found out other owners had as well...

I never have a problem with it. Try taking old Natchez to Bellevue and take 40 in. Always smooth sailing.

Great. Now everyone in Baton Rouge will move to Nashville.
Those jobs will be long hours and low pay compared to Baton Rouge.

I think it's a great thing, but it should come with a lot of stipulations.
It should basically be treated as a loan that's forgiven if a student makes the grades, graduates, and stays in state for a certain amount of time.

I'm not sure you should be bragging about the VC dollars flooding into tech when it's very commonly known that they are just pumping money into zombies hoping for a higher valuation for the next series of funding from the next group of suckers. They call that a bubble last time I checked. Okay for now, but that's not going to end well.

It won't even be nearly as bad as Amazon in Nashville

The lottery is funding a lot of it, if there's plenty of money there's no downside.
Tennessee has been aggressively working to become an economic destination, and one of the key needs for that is an educated workforce. The state government has found a cost effective means of doing that and companies are taking notice.
I know as a Louisiana resident you have little experience with seeing productive economic improvement in action, but this is what that looks like.
Honestly, it's great to shove it in the face of dumbass Bernie and Warren supporters that my dumb hick state is already offering what they want and without an income tax.

You're laughing in ignorance but I'm speaking from experience.
Industry in Nashville is very different from Baton Rouge.

And low property taxes as well, especially in Williamson Co. where Mitsubishi HQ will be. I did the Nissan relocation as well, the people who were open to transferring were extremely biased upon arrival, but once they saw what 350k could get them in a property, complete 360.

If only i'd lived in both markets for 20 years so I could make an intelligent comparison.
Oh wait

Just out of curiosity, do you know how many employees Amazon is relocating/bringing to Nashville? Also, do you know how many new employees they are expecting to hire?
