Liberty monument is and was a disgrace. No issue with that one going down.
I dont want Lee and Jefferson down, but wont really care that much.
PT going down though is a disgrace and embarrassment to all blacks that they will support and fight for that statue to be removed because white politicians told them to be mad at it.
Black people will literally cheer for the removal of a civil rights activist, and champion of equal rights, because white politicians told them too.

I'm not surprised they went for Liberty Place first. I don't know any people who would have defended keeping that one up.

That one was the low hanging fruit.
And it's basically hidden by the Aquarium and Canal place so it was much easier to get it done in the middle of the night...
Now all the rest will be interesting...

indeed, i think a simple compromise would be to install plaques giving the factual history of the monument.

It's amazing how easily manipulated blacks are as a block group of voters. And the white libs in power have them buying in hook line and sinker. They appeal to their emotions so there is no logical reasoning associated with the decision making. Just look at strong safety's posts in this thread alone.

Obama left as one of the most beloved ever. Just not around these beta parts
Dubya had a higher average job approval rating. Only three presidents have had lower average approval ratings since polling started. If he was that beloved, you'd think his job overall job approval rating would have been higher.

Honestly, I have no reason to go back to New Orleans, and I was born there.
All there is to do there is get drunk and murdered by some soulless thug.

Mayor Mitch Landrieu on Monday (April 24) declined to say how the city secured additional funding to remove Confederate monuments. He also did not answer questions about how the city was able to hire a contractor to remove the Battle of Liberty Place monument under the cover of darkness on Monday morning.

Something just doesn't seem right

"This secretive removal under the cloak of darkness, outside of the public bid, masked contractors, and using unidentified money wreaks of atrocious government," said Pierre McGraw, the committee's president. "People across Louisiana should be concerned over what will disappear next."
