Good.

Your religion isn't more important than the safety of your patients.

That’s like making lawyers be strapped to a lie detector.

Shouldn't requiring her to wear a mask be a more reasonable alternative?

Yes, it is.

A nurse in TN was fired because of this, filed an EEOC complaint and the hospital got the write her a big fat check.

Most reasonable hospitals give employees the chance to wear a mask.

She finna get paid.

You mean the lawsuit that was filed not even 2 months ago, and hasn’t been decided yet.

And in the meantime an appeals court reaffirmed a decision in a similar EEOC lawsuit filed in Minnesota.

So I doubt she’s going to get a “fat paycheck,” but she can go find someplace else to work if she can’t meet the reasonable expectations of employment.

As it should be. I was saying the nurse was stupid and won a stupid prize.

No she isn’t.

Also, there are a plethora of vaccines that are mandatory for all healthcare workers.

She knew the protocols.

She was justifiably fired.

bullshite. Some of this stuff is downright offensive. My friend is a Muslim doctor and they want him to wash his poo hand before he goes to surgery

It’s good business to make the hospital give flu shots

Only people who get flu shots get the flu so it’s more people for them to treat

I wish I got the flu shot back in September.

I currently have the flu and it’s been a three week ordeal of fevers & chills and coughing fits to where I’ve pulled muscles around my lungs. Every morning I spend 30 minutes hacking up mucus. I’m exhausted and have little appetite to the point where I’ve lost 15 lbs. I constantly have medicine head from the prescriptions and Dr said I have probably two weeks left

What a dumbass.

As a nurse, she likely comes across people who have the flu, which would make them more at risk of getting it.. If they get it, then they could spread it around. So it only makes sense to require them to get the flu shot.

Why is it such a big deal to some people? I got a flu shot the last two years in a row. It takes like 10 seconds, it doesn't hurt or anything.. And personally I never had any problems after taking it. I don't recall anyone I know personally, who got the flu shot getting sick right after taking it.. And just because it doesn't protect you from all flu strains, being protected from some is better than no protection at all.

This is just fricking stupid. If it's because religious purposes.. Then why even become a nurse, because if it is against her religion to get a flu shot, then I would imagine there are other medical practices that is against her religion that could be a conflict of interest with her career.

But she is probably like those parents who don't want their kids to get vaccinated so they sign the form saying it's because of religious purposes. What a bunch of bullshite.

This is the kind of fluff that makes a lot of your posts so long. Not trying to be a dick but everyone realized this the moment they read the thread title.

She’d win in court. Hospital is infringing on 1st amendment.

No she would not

Each hospital has different procedures for the safety of patients and other health care workers

She knew before she was hired that they require many types of vaccines for the protection of others and herself.

She needed to find a new job instead of getting fired. There are nursing jobs that do not require Flu Shots, go get one.

New Company, different policies, either get with the program or leave

I know, but I say it sort of sarcastically, but I do admit that I can make a short story long.
