Maybe, just maybe, masks aren’t the answer.

Coincidentally, just took this snippet from a Nola.com article on why black people are dying at a higher rate than white people, particularly among the younger victims.
“Then local hospitals started to fill up. Many of the people most vulnerable to the virus, then as now, were the elderly. To date, the average age for all Louisiana coronavirus victims is 74.”

Kids went to church camp last week. 3 under 12 came back and popped a positive. Nothing more than a bad cold. Let them all get it I say. Keep the high risk folks at home and the rest build here immunity.

I’m sure wearing the same dirty mask for weeks and touching one’s face 100x more each day will make this better.

Cases, cases, and cases. Any kids die? This is just like strep and the snot colds every fall when school starts.

At the end of July/first of August?
Why the hell are they even in school right now? Is there no such thing as a Summer break?

The quotes were something like ‘you want that boy to grow up without a father when you die?’ And ‘yesterday a 2yo and a 5yo died at the local hospital because of delta!’

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — School districts in two southern Mississippi counties will start classes at the end of July for the first time.
Lamar County schools will start July 22 and Forrest County schools will start July 26.
The Hattiesburg American reports that the new schedules will allow students to get additional academic help during longer breaks throughout the year.
This lone Mississippi school district doesn't have summer break. Students are thriving.
CORINTH – The Corinth School District has made a dramatic shift in its academic calendar, and Amy Craven’s son, Nick, prefers the new schedule.
“My son doesn’t seem to get as burned out on school and enjoys the challenging classes," Craven said of the Corinth High senior.
The Corinth School District is in its third year of operating a modified school calendar, which gives students periodic breaks throughout the year instead of a long summer. The idea is designed to both give students extra help throughout the year and to reduce the “summer slide” in which children may forget what they learned the previous year.
