Missing Texas State student’s remains found after 6 year search

I remember there being a thread on this back when it happened. Looks like he was found near the crash site, but still no details as to how he died.

Still, no real clear answers as to how he ended up where he ended up, which is about 5 miles from the crash site. There isn't really any detail other than that his remains were found along the side of a road...hopefully more comes out.

I remember portions of this story. He left TSU to head home for the holidays in the middle of the night. His car was originally found down a dirt and gravel road several miles from a highway that would have been his usual route.

vaguely remember this story.
i had figured he had just been ejected and for some reason couldn't find the body.
I'd guess that shock and adrenaline made him think he could walk to somewhere and then succumbed to injuries.
i flipped a truck my Jr. year of HS on a dirt farm road, and was mostly unscathed, but I got about half a mile to walking back home before I even realized what had happened and how much I hurt.

I recall this. Hopefully gives his folks the closure they need. Glad it doesn't appear to be foul play. My guess is drug or medical episode and abandoned the car after the wreck and passed trying to reach help.

Drugs. Which was my immediate reaction back when it happened based on his change of appearance. This is a good rundown of the investigation.

A dude grows a goatee and your first thought is drugs?
You’re right though, it sounds like he was doing a lot of drugs and sadly made some poor decisions.

He looks pretty healthy in that second set of pics. I've never heard of TSU being some druggy university. Doesn't mean he wasn't doing drugs, but I'm not sure what you are doing here.

He may have gotten into drugs, but that second set of photos doesn't look like that at all. That looks exactly like a college kid growing out their hair a little bit from high school.

Didn't they have hundreds and hundreds of volunteers canvassing the area around the vehicle in grid square fashion? They had to have walked right by him.
