Indonesia needs subs as much as any country in the world. If they got into a war, they have a lot of water to cover.

I heard they were doing a deep dive went they went missing. Odds are there will be no rescue depending on the depth of the water. More than likely the vessel imploded on the way down.

Their territory encompasses some of the most critical shipping lanes on the planet.
All of the navies in that part of the world have submarines.
