This just makes me sick. Hug your kids, even if they are ornery teenagers

By far my worst nightmare. Can't imagine how her parents feel right now.

Yep. Would be hard for someone to stop their car on the middle of the bridge, get out of their vehicle, and then jump without anyone seeing any of it happen tho.

Do we have a timeframe? Did one of the articles say the kid who hit the car on the bridge did it in the afternoon?

This story is heartbreaking.

Her uncle posted on Facebook. Gut wrenching.

Everyone I need your help! Please share this picture of my niece Kori Gauthier
. She has not been seen since April 6th. She is a Freshman at LSU. Her vehicle was involved in an accident(currently in a junk yard) on the Mississippi River bridge at or around 1am on April 7th. I’ve checked every hospital, jail, coroners office you name it. No sign of her. I’ll personally pay $10K to anyone that leads her home. I need my niece!!!!

Advocate article includes the following:

quote:

While seeking answers, her uncle said the family learned of an argument between Kori Gauthier and her boyfriend that had taken place Tuesday night. They believe the woman may have been on her way to her aunt's house based on the addressed entered in her car's GPS, he said.

Is there a lot of traffic there after midnight? Could she have jumped and no one was there to see?

I’m not saying it’s impossible. But it takes some nads to bridge jump. I just think an 18yr old girl jumping is improbable

It's not, if that 18yr old girl suffers from mental health issues that have gone undetected and untreated.

No such thing as coincidences. Only probabilities.

Jesus, who would downvote the OP?

wth?

And perusing the thread, it seems this hasn't been solved.

Goodness, she went missing on two days ago. This isn't good.

If I found a car, on a bridge, with no sign of the driver and their personal effects still inside, it would raise several red flags and warrant more action than a tow to an impound lot.

The towing company should've called police to investigate before touching the car. Investigators may have been able to find something with the car in place. Maybe, I don't know..

the WBR police are the ones that called the tow truck, you can't just leave a car there for hours to do an investigation or call around to find an owner. It's a massive hazard

There are traffic cameras on the MS River bridge at both approaches going both ways. If this happened, there is undoubtedly video evidence.

That's what I would think. In the Advocate article I posted the uncle said her phone was still in the car at the tow yard. It pinged there and that's how the family found the car after being told the girl didn't show up for school or a doc appt etc... That just doesn't make sense to me.

Sounds like law enforcement dropped the ball here on what should have been an immediate investigation.
