Update from LSU on #KoriGauthier investigation. Law enforcement says NO criminal activity or foul play suspected @WBRZ. She is still missing.

Seems like more trouble to stage a murder in such a visible way than to just do it in secret which makes me think that scenario is unlikely.

The car driving erratically before it stopped on the bridge doesn't seem odd to me. Seems exactly like how someone would be driving as they're trying to decide to commit suicide.

That’s my thoughts too. Occams Razor and all. This isn’t a murder/kidnapping/staging OT investigation. This is a poor young girl with her whole life ahead of her that couldn’t take living anymore for some reason.

I hate to hear it. Suicide has become way too common of any occurrence. It’s the real pandemic.

So why is the assumption suicide & not foul play

I’ve yet to see anything that suggested foul play and everything to suggest suicide but do you Lester

2x double-back means there was another influence changing her mind: needed gas, forgot her wallet, fighting and/or making up with bf, hitchhiker, or someone got in that car with or without her knowing and attacked her, et

Or she was debating on doing it

if i’m going to jump off a bridge, i’m not bothering to bring my wallet - maybe my phone if i wanted to type out a goodbye or scroll through photos and maybe make my last few calls. but even then... i would have done that earlier

Like I said earlier in the thread, some of you are trying so hard to make this into something it’s not. As horrible as it is, sometimes people take their own lives. It doesn’t always have to be a murder mystery

Almost 100% chance this is suicide. Many of you are thinking too far into it. This likely isn’t an elaborate abduction. The most common sense answer is likely correct. She kept crossing the bridge working up the courage to jump or waiting for a break in traffic. It’s sad but likely the reality.

The second they said she had a fight with her bf I knew it was.

Yep, she probably changed her mind 2 or 3 times before going through with it.

Exactly. For whatever reason, many here want to concoct some elaborate, sinister plot where she gets abducted and her suicide is staged. Yet it’s become pretty obvious- yes even the seemingly lackadaisical and poorly organized police response is indicative- that she took her own life.

I think it’s very plausible that her remains are submerged in the river and may not be found for some time.

obviously, occam’s razor substantiates the suicide theory.
however, i keep thinking, “why the heck would you jump when pills and booze would do the trick?”
then i just remembered she’s not 21 ...

but why snapchat the cousin?
bridge jumping doesn’t feel totally impulsive to me.
i’d have parked my car close to the bridge, turned it off, locked it(oddly, enough) and then walked up.

I can’t recall a story like this that made me this sad. She was a beautiful girl with her whole life ahead of her. God bless her family.

Trying to understand the thought process of someone that jumps off a bridge is pointless and exhausting

People who take pills and booze to commit suicide don’t really want to kill themselves. Pills and booze, cuts on the wrist are a cry for help.

If anyone really wants to kill themselves they would use a gun or jump off a bridge or building.

Would you even die on impact if you jumped off of the old bridge with the river this high? It's only 113 feet above the water on average. Sure the water would get you but it's not the 175+ feet the I-10 bridge is.

You’d probably get knocked out and drown.
