my understanding is that there was 4-6 thousand young people at that island party. are they all witnesses that need a lawyer?

Witnesses not necessarily (although there is always the possibility of 5th Amendment issues which, is exactly why, you never harm yourself by lawyering up)…anybody in that friend group that went to and from the island absolutely should retain counsel. The boat owners should retain counsel. Outside of potential criminal exposure (and I am in NO WAY saying there was a criminal act committed) there will most certainly be civil exposure for negligent entrustment, negligence, and other torts.

It’s a silly question. As a parent, If the cops or FBI knock on your door to question your child and you don’t say”let me call my lawyer,” then you fail as your job as a protector.

They had his shirt, his phone and his keys because he left them on the boat. He could have put them out of view so no one boarding the boat could find them.

I’ve read all kinds of things today.
Guys took his phone and deleted messages
The USCG is now covering for the white families.
They didn’t leave island until 7 because they were waiting on tow service.
Didn’t use said tow service. Another boat towed them back instead.
They had friends tow them back so they could clean blood out of boat as soon as they got home.
It would be entertaining if it wasn’t such a sad situation.

Oh I know and agree. They were probably in a compartment in the boat and had no idea it was there until the mom pinged it when she met them. I live on the water. I know how all these things “that don’t add up” work in a normal environment for people that live on the water and not in a project. The stupidity is astounding from the shite they are spewing. I have one of my best friends whose dad fell into the river with a nice vest on when he was 5. They never found his body. It was many years later they found some jeans and bones that were his. But crump wants to make it like a body that pulled it to see not resurfacing in 4 hrs is clearly foul play
