I had one issued by a mandeville cop, had to pay by the court date or I would have a bench warrant for my arrest, so I assume you do now.

Just call them and tell them whats up and bring them a check, im sure that will be fine

Just be sure to have a bunch of drinks before you go in.

Do not do this. Call on the phone. If you go to the court house they will laugh while they are cuffing you. Call on the phone and pay the fee with a cc. There will be about $300 of additional costs. You will pay court costs, warrant, use of a credit card, and original fine, so make sure you have over $500 available.

Leave your dog at home.

Not true. You can just go and pay it and you'll be fine. It'll be less than 50 dollars extra. They just want the money.

If you shoot the cop that gave you the ticket they'll probably drop the original charge.

definetly not true.

I went to pay a stop sign ticket in BR a few years ago and found out I had a nine year old disturbing the peace BW. I just went up to court, and pled. The judge thre it out due to lack of evidence, but did fine me a contempt fee for missing court.

Though not showing up to court is no joke.
I learned that lesson with a five night stint in Gretna.

You will have a traffic attachment and not a warrant. Even if you are stopped for speeding most officers and troopers will not take you to jail for one attachment but that does not mean that they cannot do it. Go to the court and ask to meet with the DA. Tell him what happened and he might even have it removed from your record otherwise it will be there forever.

what's the difference between a bench warrant, and a probable cause warrant?

Not true..I was handcuffed in my home in front of my children before..When everything settled down, they realized I had missed an inspection sticker court date. I was allowed to follow them to the courthouse and pay the fines.

What parish?

Though I did have a baton rouge cop look for me on a citation warrant before. I just said "oh he's not here"

Handcuffed? that sucks.

I have never heard of a probable cause warrant. If a warrant is requested from a judge, by a trooper for example, the Trooper must show PC for the warrant to be issued.

A bench warrant is a warrant issued from the bench directly by the judge ordering that the subject be arrested and brought before the judge immediately.

I have never heard of anyone being arrested at home for one outstanding traffic attachment. A judge can issue a bench warrant for failure to show up in court and pay the ticket but I have never heard of one doing that for a single unpaid traffic citation.

You forgot about your court date, so it wouldn't have mattered if you were on a business trip or not. Right? So that's a weak excuse

probable cause warrant

must be FL law, a few years ago, going through ugly divorce, soon to be ex filed false charges(the tried and true domestic battery,) while I was two counties(parishes,) away, on a weekend night, the dept.(city police dept.) she made the accusation at called and asked me to come in, I called a friend who was with the county Sheriff's dept., who called the city's SOD to find out what was going on, was told, based on allegation, that a probable cause warrant was issued for me(possibly a probable cause affidavit?) it's been a few years
