re: Misophonia - who here has it? Who doesn't know what it is?

I want to punch someone when there are competing noises..... say my husband watching TV, scrolling reels, with the music on in the background. Or even whenever people are screaming over the top of each other.

Or, Just one person on a cell phone in a public space makes me go bananas. I feel like I'm being held hostage to their fricking phone call. I was on a Southwest flight once where a woman just found out her boyfriend got out of prison whilst waiting to disembark. Something about having to listen to that bitch arse loud woman screaming into her phone (it wasn't a good thing he was being released) made me what to rip some weaves out waffle house style.

I have it most noisy make me irrationally angry, to the point I had work give me a truck instead of a service van. The van had too much stuff rattling in the back. I couldn't take it and I was in a bad mood all the time. My daughter is infatuated with ASMR, holy shite balls I can't take it when she's watching those videos. It's smacking, bags being crinkled, or repetitive noises I have to leave or stop the noise.

People eating anything crunchy drives me up the wall.

I understand there are people who don’t talk to themselves nor have a running conversation in your head.

I can’t imagine that.

Certain pitch frequencies will bug the shite out of me, and I teach music. If I hear a kid practicing a particular piece on an instrument, I shut my office door and put on music. I primarily work with drums, so I am at least able to do that stuff to get away from it a bit.

I don’t think it’s a diagnosable issue…probably just annoyance from 16 years of teaching.

Screeching, screaming left wing woke Karens make the worst sound a human being can emit.

I have the same thing except for reading shitty threads.

Not necessarily this one, but some bad ones.

No, it’s a different level. I have it and, while certain sounds are very annoying like a baby crying in an airplane, there are triggering noises like smacking or a dog licking that will put me into a murderous mindset. I mean starting to sweat and clench my teeth so hard it hurts ready to commit violence on my own family angry.

It’s ridiculous but not something you can make go away.
