This would be a great time to pay something like $100 to UPS over $75 in pennies.

The bride shouldn't have bothered with a bill. She should have driven to her house and beat the inconsiderate count senseless.

This cost reflects the amount paid by the bride and groom for meals that were RSVPed for, reimbursement and explanation for no show, card, call or text would be appreciated.”
Kind of like our local Picayune-speak ("I'm going up to the WalMarts."), it is technically communication but made by the products of generations of unsophisticated and under-educated folks.
"RSVPed for"? Huh?
As to the billing issue, I'd have told them that it has never been customary for Wedding Parties to bill guests for no-shows. Had they (the newlyweds) made it clear in advance that this was going to be their intent, I would be happy to pay the charges. They did not and I will not pay for the meal.
They can also consider this message from me to them as my wedding gift to them.
Good Luck!

I definitely feel it's pretty shitty to RSVP for a wedding and flake on going, but the bride obviously lacks social grace. Who the frick has pretentious arse food like that at a wedding anyway.

Did you read the story...?
You mustn't have kids...
If that were me and my wife, I would've sent the gift and billed them for it.....

Have you guys personally dealt with a wedding guest list? How is it remotely possible to have everyone who intended to show up actually be able to make it. Let's say ano average sized wedding invites 200 people. 150 send the rsvp saying they will attend about a month before the date. Out of that 150, you don't think 1 or 2 people might get called in to work, or catch the flu? How woukd they know that nearly a month out. I had a roommate from college who got sent out of the country with the military. Hell, my best man's daughter was born on my wedding day and he missed the reception. Sometimes shite comes up. Extremely tacky to send the bill and one hell of a reason to never talk to that relative again.

Where does it say that...?
Don't you think if that was a sibling's wedding, one of adults or even one of the kids would be participating in the wedding....

"The bride and the groom are a couple that we’ve not heard from for the 12 years that we’ve been married, so I’m not very close to the bride and groom really at all," she said. "The bride's brother was the person we were closest to. There wasn’t a rift; it’s just extended family."
In the article it says the husband of the couple that didn't go was friends with the bride's brother... And they hadn't spoken to those people in twelve years... I guess now they won't be speaking to them at all now...

I am glad she took this to social media. Whoever decided to send that needs to be shamed.

Another thing, they only charge because you didn't come?. Like they were perfectly willing to pay for it as long as you actually ate it? Where does that stop? Do they charge you if you don't finish your vegetables?

Why is this news or known to any outside of that family?
Posted on 10/1/15 at 7:21 am to Street Hawk
I'd send her a video of me burning that bill and shooting her the bird.

The issue here is a sit-down meal reception. Should be cocktail party style with a buffet. Sit down meals after weddings are lame as frick

I would have wiped my arse with it and mailed it back..

Just wait till these folks get stiffed on some Boy Scout popcorn

If she sent a present worth about what the meal was I don't see what the problem is. If she didn't send a present I see the bride's point technically but it is still tacky.

This bride is such a bitch, that on what's supposed to be the happiest day of her life, she noticed that a couple who isn't even immediate family didn't show up. This so upset her, she decided to go through the effort creating this bill over $60, knowing full well it would cause at the very least, awkward social situations, and possibly humiliation for her and her husband.
I feel sorry for this groom.

The babysitter called in sick on them, let it go.
Lady should sharpie a big "frick Off" on the bill and send it back with the envelope filled with glitter.
