Maybe that's your thought process and mentality for something like this
quote:Once the guy pulls the gun, "just in case" is reason enough to keep shooting. Idiot.
Not to mention, guys already on the ground. "Let me just pop 2 or 3 more in him just in case". There is a difference between necessary and excessive.

I see no problem here. Dude was being chased by police and pulled a gun. Case closed

Is it worth that risk for a guy who is trying to kill you?

I can only speak as a person that's never been in this type of situation. So heck for all i know if i were, i'd probably be popping off shot because i wouldn't want to get shot.
Just bringing a different thought into the conversation.
As far as oh boy ditching his gun for a taser...yeah, idk. He somewhat or really set himself up for failure with that one. Either way, as someone who hasn't been in that situation, I can only say 6+ shots is a lot

Go watch some videos of dudes on bath salts. They get shot 10+ times and still go after the shooters.

quote:Seemed like a decision with good intentions, but it showed the reason why you don't do something like that. When the guy takes a shot or goes for his gun, you basically have to shoot to kill and keep shooting until you are 100% certain that the threat is neutralized.

And you're right. But its really hypothetical. Like oh girl said, "you shot to kill". And if thats the case for cop training, which i seemingly have doubt but im not a cop nor have i dont the training, then is what it is.
Plus, i'm sure if i were in that situation as anyone else, would probably do the same. All i said was it seemed excessive.

Like oh girl said
Although I honestly thought you were since you rationalize with your emotions and not logic.

So you don't know the training, haven't done the training but think if you were in the situation you would probably do the same yet think it's excessive?

But the family is willing to watch that and still make statements to whip up the public. I just wish the family would say:
"We loved him and wish he wasn't dead but he made a bad choice."
Why anger the public and prompt demonstrations and possibly more violence?
how can they say all that and still be the victims? doesn't work out for them like that. gotta be a victim to get sympathy and air time.

Whatever you say sugar tits. It's called bringing a different insight into the convo. Some get it, other DAs don't

Not tryin to step on my own toes with what i said but as far as training goes maybe that is what's thought. Whoever is a cop in this thread can enlighten us on that. Or whoever has taken the training.
When i saw the video and saw him go down and shots were still being popped off. It comes off excessive IMO. Like someone said earlier, you're in a tense situation like that and see someone else with a gun willing to possibly use it against you, you're thinking "Better him than me" at the time when you pull the trigger.
I see someone go down after two or three shots, its worth thinking "I got this guy". 3+ more shots after that, idk. But thats just what im thinking 'a-loud' given the fact that he's already down. But like it was stated, dude could roll over and pull one off.

What does it take for people to accept that a police shooting is justified? Do the police need to let the guy shoot them a couple of times first?
The “anti cop” theme has been carried so far that people can’t see the truth, even if it’s staring you in the face. Their agenda will be narrated, truth be damned.

He has reverted to defending his dumb comments by claiming they at least further the conversation. It doesn't matter that they aren't valid and ignore facts.
