It's pretty impressive that those cops were able to make such a split second decision like that.
But too many in the public & media are great about making split second judgement calls on cops

I don't know. I always figured they yelled "freeze" or nothing once the chase was on. LOL
The body cams have been very good to get the information out on what these guys deal with.

Watch the slow mo video and then watch the full speed. The full speed version in the news link shows the seconds after the shooting and the gun is clear as day laying next to his right hand. One officer even announces that he is going to move the gun away from the guys hand and walks over and kicks it away. The sound it makes going across the ground is unmistakable. It definitely isn’t a water bottle or whatever the family is claiming.

I see that now. I hadn't watched the first link which slows it down and shows the gun in his pocket. I'm still not convinced he drew the gun like they are trying to show. I don't think it matters all that much either way.

Jesus, are you really this stupid?

It’s literally laying right next to his right hand. It doesn’t just fall out of his pocket all conveniently placed right there.

Guns can't fall out of pockets?
I take it back after watching the end of the slowed down clip. Looks like he pulled the gun out of his pocket with his right hand. Good shoot.

That would be magic bullet level of trajectory to land where it landed if it fell out of his pocket.

From the article:
So he shot at the officers and they're still trying to say he wasn't a threat?

“were forced to fire" at Blevins "only after he pointed a gun and fired at the officers.”
So he shot at the officers and they're still trying to say he wasn't a threat?

That's a stretch. The gun was already somewhat out of his pocket. It could have happened. But I now see that he had it in his hand. Fox News should have posted the video in the first link in the OP. Shows a lot more clear that he had the gun in his hand when the shots were fired.

Nothing to see here, he got what he deserved. Now his kid has to grow up without a father thanks to his stupidity..

Did he shoot at them? I must be missing a lot of things this morning.

I agree. It’s an absurd stretch to say it fell out of his pocket and magically landed right past his right hand. The very same hand the gun was in when he pulled it out of his pocket.
Did he put the gun back in his pocket after getting shot but before hitting the ground?

God just give us another race riot over some dead thug. I pray.

Obviously not. But as I said in my first post, I couldn't tell what hand the gun was in or if he had it out at all. My fault though because I hadn't watched the slowed down video.

I'm not totally convinced that's the gun though, because if you look earlier in the video, he clearly has nothing in his left hand and has a chrome or gold watch on that same hand which could be what we see in the circled part of the image. If that's not the gun, then where was it the whole time he was running? Did he have it in his waistband or his right hand?
1st of all, he took off running. Calls into 911 saw him shoot, described him, and the police arrive and he runs..AND the gun is seen in the video AND found near his body......hmmmmmm
Seriously, what else do you need to be convinced? A sales receipt in his pocket from Guns R Us?

Didn't we see a gun fall out of a dancing FBI agent's pocket and discharge?
