I enjoy seeing these people get what they want, because it's not going to end well.
It's just so bizarre to watch these politicians bow to this nonsense. I just can't imagine being wrapped up in any ideology to the point where you just throw out any sort of rational thought. I mean, these people hold the thought that you should not only be prohibited from owning guns but there should be no police as well. I guess that explains the thought process about how the kung flu was so bad that we should shut down society for a year, but a week later you support hundreds of thousands of people marching in the streets together.

I have a theory that with the advent of 24 hour news and then the rise of social media, "life" sped up. Politicians cannot keep up with the whims of the voters, and have been reduced to little more than a dog chasing its tail. They cannot placate voters fast enough. The winds of public opinion blow too fast for them to keep up with, and that results in playing both sides against the middle. They cannot keep up with the whims of an uneducated, or falsely educated, voting public, so knee jerk reactions happen all of the time in the spirit of appeasement and maintaining the vote.
All of this is fine for the politicians, of course, because with the new age the public's attention span has been reduced to that of a gold fish, and they know they will not be held accountable.

All the politicians onn their town council should be forced to live inside the city proper with their family. No armed guards allowed.

A police force is also part of the criminal justice system. The DA can't bring charges or convict anyone without police involvement in terms of reports, collecting and preserving evidence, and serving as witnesses. Might as well close all the jails too, which is of course something else liberals want.

I’m sure there will be lots of people signing up for these jobs after a couple unarmed “officers” get murdered.
And Fire and EMT will be “thrilled” to have no real police support too. Just made all their jobs significantly tougher
