How's day to day life in Twin Lakes?

Gonna spend the rest of my life here. Fresh air. World class hikes within a ten minute drive. Feasting on trout all summer. What's not to love?

My daughter loves it, having the mountains as her backyard. Daughter #2 (coming in like 10 days time) I'm sure will love this backyard too.

What's the drive to Leadville for groceries like in the winter (assuming that's the closest decently sized grocery store)?

It's not bad actually. Lake County is amazing at keeping the roads clear. Plus, it takes quite the storm to shake me at this point.

BV is about equidistant, but the weather can be tricker in that run in the "canyon" to our south.

Yeah, there’s a realistic scenario. Louisiana will be lucky if it’s not the last to legalize.

Yeah, my bad. Thought Colorado was a few years earlier than it was! I'll amend to eight years ago.

Such a shame that all us freedom lovers have to move to progressive states. Maybe one day conservatives will love freedom again.

2 things are gonna be painfully hard for Louisiana to do with marijuana.

1: legalize it

2: get past the BS hurdles with THC for job drug tests

I mean, i could take an edible at an amount that would not get me wasted for PTSD and help me but instead the answer is to take pills

That's going to be really hard for Louisiana. So many oil/petrochem jobs will never stop drug testing. Given the dangers of the work, I understand it. Need to develop an instant test, to determine intoxication on the spot instead of screening for metabolites.

hether you agree that freedom to use a plant is in the best interest of society or not, it is far past time to end the federal scheduling of cannabis as a prohibited substance.

It's sad, TBH. My mom has severe scoliosis (due for major surgery at beginning of next year). She hates all the pain pills they've tried to put her on, especially after watching me battle addiction to opiates/opioid.

Instead, she gets some cbd and cbn meds from here and they really help her, according to her. Nothing can completely take away the pain, but a couple of cbd gummies during the day for pain is a lot more tolerable and manageable than taking a script of percocets or Lortab. She takes a cbd/cbn mix gummy at night to help with the pain and sleep.

Cigs make me higher than weed.

Its both overrated as hell and overly feared at the same time.

I think I know what side of the fence you’d have leaned towards during Prohibition

Not until they can find a way to funnel money into the pockets of the legislature and make up for whatever loss of revenue the sheriffs will run into.

Many California employers are still drug testing. Last year I had to take a pre-employment drug test for my current position. I don't think they make an exception for weed.

I dont get this line of thinking. People arent going to move to Louisiana just to smoke pot. Everyone that smokes it is already doing so.

So currently there are jobs you cant be high at, cant be drunk at and there are pills that say dont drive on or operate machinery.

Why would any of that change legalizing weed?

The new law permits adults to purchase (up to two ounces from state-licensed retailers and/or 8 grams of concentrate and 800 milligrams worth of edible products), home-cultivate (up to eight plants, no more than four of which can be mature), and possess (up to 2 pounds in private) cannabis.

The bill also facilitates the automatic review and expungement of records for those previously convicted of certain marijuana-related violations.

Adults may legally possess cannabis on August 1, 2023. State officials at that time will begin the process of reviewing and expunging tens of thousands of marijuana convictions. By contrast, retail sales of cannabis products are not anticipated to begin until some time next year.

LA legislators act like they'd be re-inventing the wheel. above is as common sense as it gets
