rounded population numbers:
-legal states 166MM
-non-legal states 166M

whether you agree that freedom to use a plant is in the best interest of society or not, it is far past time to end the federal scheduling of cannabis as a prohibited substance.

i do believe that once either texas or florida (probably florida) legalizes, it will happen by the next session of congress, or by executive order

You have to either go MN or Minn. MIN is ludicrous.

It’s beyond time

Coming from someone who has never smoked weed and hates to be around it, I fully believe it should be legal

But seriously: think of the children

To some extent but the number of dispensaries around here suggests a whole lot of people take advantage of the legal market.

Edibles are more convenient prepackaged. Lot easier to just buy your concentrates too.

It'll definitely be Florida before Texas. Florida has a legitimate medicinal program in place and any Texas cannabis law is held up every session by Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick. Last I heard Florida is on track to have a ballot initiative next year.

Idgaf which states legalize or not, just reschedule & decriminalize it federally.

Lots of Texas license plates in those parking lots! How's day to day life in Twin Lakes? Beautiful area. What's the drive to Leadville for groceries like in the winter (assuming that's the closest decently sized grocery store)?

It was on the ballot back in 2020 but the republican AG sued to have it removed because he and his office thought floridians were too dumb to understand that the ballot measure would only make it legal on the state level.

Good for them, wish the southern states would wake up.

either state would tip the scale, both electorally and demographically. once that happens, the rest states will be left behind to either scramble or stagnate.

i truly do not think that most people understand the gargantuan scale of the cannabis economy, even shackled by bogus criminality and lack of access to banking. once this goes, states like LA could easily be left holding the bag (so to speak)

That makes far too much sense but it would cut into the prescription painkiller business too much so we all end up suffering.

That's so dumb. Hopefully this time around it goes to the public to decide.

Louisiana should have done it ten years ago. Would have made a ton of tax revenue from all of the Texans driving over instead of making the trek, initially at least, to Colorado.

So Louisiana should have been the first state to legalize?

Yeah, there’s a realistic scenario. Louisiana will be lucky if it’s not the last to legalize.
