That what I stated was a true statement for the first term and all actions taken therein.

What market besides living the middle of nowhere, costs "50% less".
You realize the MEDIAN home price in this country is now over 300k and has risen at an exponentially faster rater than all of history since 1997?
You don't think there are markets where the homes cost half of what they do in say the Nashville or Austin metros? There are nice places to live for a family where a home doesn't cost 500-600k+.

I am just fine, thanks. And I don't need to worry about blaming anyone else for questionable decisions.
Because I have made those sacrifices and worked hard, I have more money than I realistically ever care to spend.

Honestly these are some of your best work. Otherwise rational people just come out swinging utter bullshite with absolute conviction.

You're also ignoring that Kennedy only won because the Democrat party made him include Johnson on the ticket so they could hold the South. A good percentage of the vote was actually for Johnson in spite of Kennedy.

Perhaps one positive thing to come from Covid is maybe there will be more remote work and people can spread out a little more. I think it remains to be seen how permanent some of this is.
I don't know if moving to the middle of nowhere has mass appeal to most young families but if you could do your same job based out of Nashville from another market where housing costs 50% less that might be appealing to a lot of people.
100%
I do think the appeal would be there for some. If there were 30 families that wanted to go build in some aesthetically nice rural area and all of us were professionals who could work remotely - I'd be pretty interested in something like that.
Right now that is the province of the rich. I remember some years ago families from Highland Park were doing that in Montana/Wyoming. I think that's previously happened (also with Dallas families) outside of Red River in NM. But it's a model that becomes more feasible and more accessible for real life (rather than vacation/rec) if people genuinely become untethered from cities.

90% of boomers weren’t old enough to vote. That was the greatest generation and silent generation voting for him over Goldwater.

There’s jealousy from the boomer side that is obvious to me. Guys who immediately left college to get married and live in suburbs are likely jealous of younger folk who get to or have had carefree experience in cities.

Yeah, because SOOOOOO many people decide which candidate to vote for based on who their VP is

Our money is worth less and our biggest essential living expenses (with the exception of food which has only exploded in price this year) cost significantly more.
It all depends on where you live.
The average home price is 300k today, which isn't prohibitive. With the interest rates we get today, it's cheap.
I can't help you if you choose to live in an expensive area where you feel your lifestyle is better expressed. That's on you.

You realize how many jobs would be lost of people only bought cars with cash and people only went to college would could pay for it with cash?
You cannot physically pay tuition on a $20/hour job (which is better than most), while going to school full time.
Do the math, its not possible anymore at just about any school besides a JUCO or something along those lines.

Well, working from home is one thing. But you then have to make a decision where you’d like your children to go to school. Much of small town Tennessee (where I grew up) does not have great schools.
And if you want to send tour kid to a private school, well now you likely have to commute back into the city to take them to school, even though you work from home.
The biggest issue in all of this is simple. Millennials have tons of student loan debt.

The last thing I care about when making personal choices, for me, is how it affects mythical society.
Why would you need cash? Borrowed money is damn near free today. Another huge perk.

Even today, Evangelical Christians largely voted for Trump because Pence was his Veep. For someone so convinced they know so much, you sure are selectively ignorant about a lot.

It's still massively inflated everywhere.
50% of that is $300k. That's a $1500 mortgage with 20% down.
That's not chump change against job markets in those areas unless youre a doctor, dentist or super successful small business owner.

Nah. Again, the median home price is affordable.
Except in very specific locations.

The credit market and culture are different games across those 2 generations.
