Compared to previous generations.Disclaimer: fully stolen from Reddit but worth sharing.

I don’t claim full millennial status (mid 80s), but more fathers being involved with their kids is never a bad thing

Back in 1982, a whopping 43% of fathers admitted they'd never changed a diaper. Today, that number is down to about 3%, and that's great, because research indicates that when dads dress, diaper and bathe their babies, the father-child relationship grows stronger as the child grows.

If you say so

They’re going shopping for dresses together.

That’s because our wives are lazier than the previous generations.

I don’t see what’s funny

No wonder kids are all a wreck now. None of them have had to try and work for dad's affection anymore.

Mid 80’s is definitely full millennial status. 1980-1982 is more gen x.

Most wives are also working their butts off trying to stay relevant in a world where 2 incomes are the norm and not the exception.

That’s because you’re not working. Get a fricking job!
And a haircut.
And a haircut.

I just disagree with the Year bands of millennials. Wikipedia says 1981-1996. That’s a humongous band with a lot of differences. I didn’t have a cell phone in HS and was using Napster in college. A little different than someone born in 1996.

I spend more time with my kids more than my dad did with me, but I went on 4x the vacations with my dad than I go on with my kids. Once a month we went somewhere.
But I am home helping with homework. My dad many times wasn't able to do that.

No child remembers being bathed and diapered. It's far more important the time you spend with them between 5-10 where you play together and teach them how to do things like build stuff, make things, read, write, play sports, etc.

This.
If the wife or husband doesn’t work, they should handle the majority of the parenting related work because that is their de facto job.
If my wife is working the same hours I am I have to adjust my effort to reflect that.
Instead of the average number of worked for a nuclear family being 40/week its now 80 and the resulting increase in income is largely negated by the price of child care and inflation that has ensued in the housing and car markets as more money chases the same assets.
This is the logical outcome of feminism.

Seeing some of these pansy dads, the next generation will be even worse for it.

Who cares what started this? It’s the reality of the world that we live in.

I think that's more where these numbers are coming from. My dad had 3 kids and has never changed a diaper. Single income families were pretty much the norm when I was growing up though.
