That would be a MFing non-starter if I were a contractor. The Aegis and TC guys I worked with back when got targeted a lot.

I do ISR from above. To my knowledge we’ve never supported contract security peeps but I don’t always get told what we’re looking at. As far as armed CAS I’m betting only security personnel supporting OGA types would ever have access to that.

I honestly liked the movie though. Especially for being a Netflix original, I thought it was a pretty damn good movie.

ISIS and Boko Haram clerics come from the same madrassas although historically the lighter skinned arabics and blacks from the sub Saharan. ISIS has pretty much taken over the Boko Haram movement though. Not that it matters. They’re all fricking psychos. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a resurgence in violence from the Islamists in west africa this year. Most of the western militaries have or are in the process of pulling out leaving the militaries of Chad/Nigeria/Niger to deal with the problem. The Nigériens are busy dealing with other ISIS elements near their capital and the Nigerians are distracted by the Fulanini insugency and Chad is well, it’s Chad.

It all started with Hassan Al-Banna in 1892. AQ/ISIS/Al-Shabab/Boko etc etc. they are all from the same vein, galvanized by the teachings of Sayid Qutb.
I know more about this stuff than anyone really wants to know, but at least I was well compensated for it.
To answer OP, it all depends on experience and discipline. I got to a point where I wouldn’t deploy for less than 350k and wouldn’t work stateside for less than 110k, 200k in the beltway or Polk.

I get messages every couple of months from security companies in Afghanistan. Mostly security and route clearance. They couldn't pay me enough.

here in DC/Nova there are tons of high paying defense contractor jobs.

And to the OP, it depends, your question it to general. You could be working the ACP in bumfrick Afghanistan making like $60-$70k, or you could be working PSD in bum frick Africa for like $150k

Good money in the security sector, you'd be guarding VIPs in Iraq ect. Money is good, if you live to spend it.
I went back to Iraq as a contractor after I got out. Good money, tax free up to 80K. I came home and was offered a security job by Blackwater making over 200K but it was after my divorce and I was a single dad so I couldnt go.
