Curious as to what kind of jobs are available in the private sector. What kind of missions or security do they pay this good money for?

What kind of action would one expect on some of these contracts?

They vary from dignitary protect, convoy security, and QRF to computer and logistics jobs.

Well depends on where and what job.

Contractors do literally everything the military does except for offensive combat operations.

Security, logistics, IT, intelligence and surveillance, cooking and cleaning....everything.

Come out to NoVA. Plenty of those jobs around here. Seems like everybody out here is doing it and makes $250k per year

My BIL is ex Navy (not a SEAL, believe it or not). He works overseas doing electronic shite. Mostly in the middle east. Pay is good but intermittent. He was furloughed for 3 months last year.

Some of these outfits are shady as frick. A Canadian company went bankrupt last year leaving its employees disabled in the line of duty without compensation.

A lot of your potential income is based on your past service experience.

Some outfits are above and beyond others as far as pay.

If you have certain skills you can make a lot of money in a very short time.

The type of clearance you have is a big factor. Someone with an active Top Secret/SCI clearance right out of the military can easily get six figures as a contractor.

You’re doing good work.

I’m just done now. Will still do consulting and such but I’m done and it’s time.

Made my money and bought my land off of that life and want to just fish and hunt now.

Much respect to you and your brethren

I finished up a couple months ago. Two days before coming home from dealing with the Boko fellas in west Africa, caught a round in the wrist and fricked my hand up.

I got hit in paintball once right on that bone that sticks out of the side of your wrist. You're right. That shite hurts.

I didn't get to shoot the guy who did it though.
