If so, what were they like?

*I would have typed out "French Foreign Legion" in the title, but character space was at a premium.

No, but I did say, "G'day", to a bunch of Aussie soldiers in Kuwait.

Lol you posted the article on the PT which stated an invasion of Iran would be impossible because of their "dry season" - in the desert lmao.

They also give you a new alias that you can adopt for the remainder of your life or revert to your old name after 5 years I think.

Great way to skip some charges if you're under still under 40.

Served with the FFL in Asia. Couple of American ex military were members. They are tough as nails. They were well equipped and trained.

Served with a couple of former FFL doing security work for a PMC down in Africa during the mid nineties.

I dont know a lot about them but they got my respect. Not your typical French stereotypes.

edit- I served in the US Armed Forces not with FFL. I just happened to be around them in the Philippines and Sierra Leone a couple times.

I watched a couple of episodes of the YouTube documentary on them. Their training is pretty insane. Almost like Ranger training.

Drank some beers with them in Djibouti. They were nice guys, a lot cooler than the French Navy assholes.

Not Foreign Legion but the emperor of Japan, Hirohito, walked right by me while visiting Bangkok. Had a cherry lime green Rolls Royce.

US should have a foreign legion. Serve 20 years - get citizenship.

I got fricking plastered with a group of Aussie sailors in Hawaii at a Thai restaurant. Fun crowd.
