If it's in a boxing ring with boxing rules Tyson would destroy him. In EVERY other scenario Shamrock would win easily.

If it was back then and no one knew how Shamrock fought then Shamrock would have won. If someone knew that Shamrock would take Tyson to the ground and taught him how to sprawl it would have been awesome to watch.

Boxing - Tyson

Octagon - Shamrock

I feel like that's the argument for most of the "boxer vs MMA fighter" questions. No way in hell was McGregor ever going to beat Mayweather in the ring, and there's a reason that Mayweather will NEVER step foot in the octagon with McGregor... he'll get his arse kicked. Very different rules, very different training, very different sports.

Tyson would always have chance for a quick knockout because he was swinging fricking sledge hammers for fists, but if someone managed to get in close and get Tyson on the ground, he'd be done for.

Yall retarded if yall think Tyson would win in a fight. Shamrock is a straight killer in his prime. Yall might want to do some research on that.

Has Bruce Lee been mentioned yet? Bruce Lee would kill them both. Probably at the same time.

In his prime? Tyson. One connection and people went night night.

Tyson was the worst guy to plan a pay per view party around.

The comparison of Pro Boxers to MMA Fighters is always a fun opinion convo. Facts would tell you that every time a MMA Fighter steps into anything bigger than an octagon they get absolutely worked by the boxers. Boxers are just superior in every way: endurance, stamina, speed, agility, technique, footwork, tact.

Mike would absolutely annihilate Ken Shamrock’s slow arse.

Hard for him to throw when he’s on his back.

Here's a fact: You didn't watch the Royce Gracie vs. a boxer video.

Didn't Randy Couture brutalize a pure boxer in a UFC fight one time?

Yeah but the boxer had one hand in a boxing glove.

The good old days when they pitted different martial arts styles against each other.

There's is a reason why you don't see boxer's in MMA. Or pure karate guys.

Tyson would land on Shamrock on the way in. World class boxers >>>>>>> MMA fighters in strikes.

Question is would he land punches clean enough stop Shamrock. If not, Shamrock double legs Tyson, controls him, and eventually strangles him.

My bet would be on Tyson.

We had a pay-per-view party when Tyson fought Ruddock the second time. There were 12 of us, so we had a pool where we each kicked in 20 bucks and each picked the round that the KO would occur in, winner take all. Another schlub showed up late, so we let him buy in for "decision". Decision in Tyson vs. Ruddock? We laughed at him. Son of a bitch took the money.

Lol at people who think Tyson would knock out an old school MMA guy with one punch. Shamrock only needs to stay upright long enough to take Tyson to the ground, then Tyson goes to sleep rather quickly after that.

There's simply no debate here. If it's a street fight or MMA, it's Shamrock. If it's boxing, shamrock gets knocked tf out in round one.

ETA: had you asked about Tyson vs Abbott in MMA, I'm taking Tyson all day.

Mr. Shamrock visited Fort Polk recently and I met him and spoke to him there during his visit.
