A Gwinnett County mother says her 12-year-old is recovering after unknowingly ingesting edibles while in his 6th-grade class.
He told his mom that a student had Sprite bottles in class, but no one knew that inside the bottle were enough THC gummies to make the child very sick.
The mother is the problem here. Little Jimmy is fricking lying to you, lady.

An open sprite bottle with gummies in it…then says “I didn’t know”..

That kid died recently after taking a bunch of Benadryl as part of some TikTok challenge.

Are there some fentanyl candies I don't know about? That's a HUGE leap and just fear-mongering really. The same with the ridiculous rumor that dealers were sprinkling fentanyl on weed. I've seen zero actual evidence of this, not to mention it makes no sense. Are they suggesting dealers/growers are just tossing handfuls of fentanyl on their crops? Does it even work if exposed to fire?
We need to have conversations with our kids about drugs, but they need to be real conversations rooted in reality.
Weed should not be the big bad boogeyman you should scare them with.
Like I said, if they get too high your fridge is in more danger than they are. But you DEFINITELY need to caution your kids about being aware of what they are ingesting. You want to scare them with something, scare them away from taking any pills they don't have a confirmed and trusted source for, like their parents or the pharmacy.
Teach them not to accept opened drinks, especially from people they don't truly know and trust.
This can be a powerful teaching experience, but only if we are honest and open about it.

shiloh really is a wasteland.
Around a decade-ish ago I was not too long out of college and one of my friends from HS (same city as shiloh) that I also went to UGA with was early in their career as a teacher at a gwinnett county school. She said one day a student brought her some sweet tea from somewhere and before she coudl drink it another student stopped her and quietly told her that they'd put a ton of molly in it.
That was at a high school. Now this story from a middle school. Gwinnett county has gone downhill so bad, and so fast, it boggles the mind. Of course there's one very clear and obvious reason but I'll let the reader draw their own conclusions as to why.

I was thinking about this too. Teach your kids that "drugs" are all around us, and they have effects. Caffeine is an easy one to help them understand. These "challenges" are dangerous and destructive. They prey on the inexperienced and easily manipulated. It's no wonder tiktok is a Chinese creation.

Well, I guess it worked as advertised.

jokes aside, i think it's funny how often people take the word of "victim" at face value when it comes to drug stuff. no one wants to admit they injected too much THC and freaked out or snorted some powder with fent.

I think y'all are way overestimating kids in general. This kid is 12 years old, so he's likely only one year removed from being in friggin elementary school. Some of yall may have been blazing up at that time but the vast, overwhelming majority of 12 year olds are not. I would think it far more likely that the culprits were passing these around giggling telling their friends "hey, try this!" and not "I wanna get high and fricked up, gimme that sprite"

It's true! My cousin's brother's girlfriend's ex mother-in-law's son's pizza guy's plumber's senator's mistress was an evil weed head and she overdosed from injecting ONLY ONE SINGLE POT . But not before going on a terrible crime spree.
This is a drawing of her right before it happened

Which is why you teach your kids that the proper response to "hey, try this!" Is not "okay." (Like their dad's dumb arse was known to do)
It's "what is it, what's in it, where did it come from?"
