American sports cars have gotten really good. The companies really turned themselves around.

Ford just won Le Mans last year. They’ve stepped their game up big time.

Piss on those stupid Ford GTs. Corvette Racing has won Le Mans 8 times since 1999.

I was in Bowling Green a few months back and the GM folks were pretty tight-lipped about it, but you sense the excitement.

Ford GT-40 won in 1966, 1967, 1968, and 1969. Where's the Chebby?

Looks like it will be 458/488-ish. I think Corvette designers also do some work for Ferrari because the C7 definitely has some F12 styling cues.

Why is a mid-engine good? How does it improve performance?

Better handling due to the weight distribution being in the middle rather than the front.

About time Chevrolet recognized that the laws of physics require ultrahigh perfomance cars be mid-engine

Audi, Ferrari, McClaren et al figured It out long ago.

As a result hood will be shorter, tail will be lomger and form follows function,

So no surprises here except what does Chevy do to not look like competitors midengine pecedents

Price can provide differentiaton if it is less than $75K

The original NSX was amazing for the time, the new one is rather disappointing especially considering the wait.

That's cute. Maybe if they called it a Corvair meant to compete with the Porsche 718 chassis.

They should have made the new NSX at a price range similar to the GTR and accessible to buyers. At $200k, they are WAY overpriced.

That will take a little to get used to, but it was time to move on to the next generation.

Well, in all fairness, that's going to be the trunk (frunk?) when they move to a mid-engine configuration. The hood's still gonna have to be long enough to cover the engine, it just won't be in front of you.
