We used to live off Staring so went there a good bit. They have the best prices and really good produce, IMO.

I agree. I love going there. And you will have a whole basket of stuff and they'll be like "That will be $12".

Farmer's market is great too, but I sometimes struggle to get moving that early on a Saturday.

Sleeper would be Albertsons. I rarely go to any of them, but their produce always looks great compared to similar stores. And they have things other places don't have, like shishito peppers or baby bok choy.

The Albertson's on Essen and Perkins was the most foul store I went to. We consistently got bad chicken from there and when you walk it smells like old seafood all the time. I had to stop going there.

I'm also very picky, fwiw.

We have a good farmer's market here, but its all the way downtown and on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I don't think it has reopened yet since Covid though.

The redone one on Bluebonnet/Burbank is much nicer. I agree the other one smells horrible.

I was surprised the first time I went into Bluebonnet one and the produce was even nicer looking than some of the smaller local spots.

I don't get the fascination with produce at TJ's or Sprouts. Its all packaged up. Weird me out.

Even Neighborhood WalMart by my house has nicer looking produce than a lot of places. My guess is their items rotate out at 10x the rate of my normal store that's always empty (Robert).

No she’s moving into an apartment. And now she’s wanting to join a sorority and I have a feeling that’ll mean she’s around even less.
