I legit opened this thread thinking it was yet another weird OT sex fetish deal. I was honestly curious as to what a Mid-Century Lover does to a woman that a 2016 guy doesn't.

Thanks!

I just ordered a Noguchii coffee table the other day and told myself no more for a little while, but that site you linked has a ton of great stuff.

I like some of it.

But it always strikes me as weird that people seem to wholesale love MCM instead of acknowledging that some of it objectively blows. For example, there are elements of that inside living space and kitchen I like. Of course, the exterior is fricking hideous.

Palm Springs is filled with them.

Yeah, I've heard PSP is a great place for mid century homes.

There are a few here in Austin, but I find Austin doesn't like to preserve historic buildings.

Houston has a pretty good collection of MCM homes.

I'm more a fan of Contemporary than MCM. Less dated feel, and I like multi-level homes.

That's the whole point.

That's like saying a classic car looks nice, but has old lines.

Yeah, I didn't say it wasn't the point. I provided an opinion. I don't like the dated feel of MCM, which is why I prefer Contemporary.

A lot of people act like they're the same thing, but contemporary just stole a lot of MCM principles and applied them to, IMO, a better looking, functioning and feeling house.

So it's not like syaing a classic car looks nice, but has old lines.

It's more like saying I prefer the new Camaro design over the 60's version even though the new design borrows a lot of principles of the 60's design.

I'd rather go with this for modern/contemporary:

A lot of them in Houston. I find this a great compromise for couples between MCM and Modern/updated.

Couple of cool, different homes I have seen around Nashville.

As far as 60's and 70's ranch style homes, Nashville has a billion of them.

I love the design as well. There is a new development in Dallas that is building these but it's a whole development and every house looks nearly identical which is a turnoff.
