not saying i can't afford it, just say its not even close to worth it. $400 is when you are avoiding them half the time. Buying some woman you don't even like dinner and drinks just to get your dick wet seems really stupid to me these days. Then you have to smile and pretend to be interested in their interests and problems

I REALLY feel bad for you now! Wow!

If you can't accept Nurse's kumbaya version of Christianity, you'd hate to hear my perspective.

Huh? I said I don't believe in her version, or any version, but I think her version is a GREAT thing for people to believe in. For the most part being a Christian makes people happier IME.

Americans don't take enough vacation.

Take a 6 month sabbatical. Recharge your batteries. I think every 7-10 years people should take a while off to recharge themselves.

Its all relative. I have my life setup where whenever I am not at work I am basically on vacation. I basically live in a resort, go out for dinner and drinks almost every night and can do whatever I wan't most of the time. The only reason I want to get out of town right now is because of the heat but the last 8 months my life has been just like a vacation, even though I work M-F.

I would venture to say 95%(probably more) do not have the financial means to not get paid for 6 months. Then have to come back and find another job. Stress is adding up just thinking about it

I wasn't joking FWIW. I wish I could believe because it really does do a lot of good for the people I know that are Christians but I could never!

Buddy, I just want to let you know that you're doing much better than you think you are. And I don't mean that to diminish the feelings that you shared. But if I lost my wife, I'd probably crawl in a hole and never come out.

It takes years to recover from a loss like one's spouse. That you have managed to continue to thrive in your career and maintain any resemblance of physical fitness and a social life is pretty damn impressive.

So keep trucking, man! Just put one foot in front of the other, every day, and you'll break through to the other side eventually.

Also, I cannot emphasize enough that you should defer any bold career moves/changes until you've gotten out of this funk.

In regards to employment, "Following your heart/dreams" is complete yuppie bullshite, a sentiment foreign to about 90% of the world.

If you are successful and progressing in your job, stick with it. Maybe just cut back on the hours or take a long vacation.

Make changes in other inconsequential areas of your life: change up your workout, take up a new hobby, travel, etc.

Because they chose to buy things over time off, you could easily plan for something like that.

There is no way in hell I would have survived the tumultuous last 10 years of my life without the peace my faith gives me.

If you will never understand this, I pity you.

Both long time girlfriends kind of drained me toward the end. Life was much easier after breaking up. I can handle whatever life throws at me on my own and with the support of family and friends I would like to think.
