I just want to have around $5,500 or so for monthly income when I'm retired. That's plenty for me.

You hear people say this all the time, usually when it appears that they don't have an answer for it. What does that actually mean?

Churches are full of cuties so that's a good place to find love. Otherwise church is useless

Quit trying at what, making a living? Living period?

Preachers get burned out. Everyone can get burned out, but you can't just quit. Well maybe some can, but most of us can't afford to just throw in the towel.

Means you have to have faith in God's will and love for you.

If you believe in that sort of thing.

I think I can somewhat relate to the OP, maybe I'm exactly where I want to be in my life, but something feels off and I feel empty

Do for others. I achieved more than I ever dreamed I could, but still felt empty. I realized all the material goods didn't bring happiness. I certainly don't deprive myself, but we find joy in giving much of what we earn away. I also could give a shite if I lost it all or not. After "living the dream", I realized the things that really make me happy are pretty damn cheap. I enjoy hunting, fishing, good food, cold beer, and friends/family. I no longer feel burdened with maintaining a certain level of wealth or whatever. I do what I do and let the cards fall how they might. Not that I do dumb shite with my money. I just don't worry about it, and I'll be damned if it hasn't made it even easier to make it and grow it.

That makes good sense, but why not just say that instead of all this code word Christian speak stuff?

If you died tomorrow, how would people remeber you?

I don't want people saying "He was such a dedicated worker."
I want people to say "Damn, he lived a full life."

Fellas im a highly educated professional that busts my arse 6 days a week trying to grab that brass ring... ive come to the point where im just too damn tired from everything... work, gym, social life... has anybody else in here hit a wall at this point in their career where you cant help but wonder is it really worth all the effort?

Dude that shite is common. Sit down and prioritize. Learn something new like the guitar. Buy a muscle car and start working onsomething else besides work!!! Find something you love and do it!

Good lluck. Its a rut. Get some big arse mud tires and climb on out

Give it to God is pretty self explanatory.

I've enjoyed reading this thread. Life is complex and it's nice to hear what makes others happy.

Check out the book called Happy Money…very easy read and uses common sense to apply things in life you can do to make yourself happier…I enjoyed it

No, actually it isn't. It also isn't just a one size fits all answer to everything or you wouldn't find preachers taking sabbaticals from preaching if all they had to do was just give it to God.

complete disgust over dating... women are 90% nuts

same boat. I quit a few years ago. Single women in their 30's are damaged and broken looking for any guy to be their sperm donor. OT poor, so no money to buy younger women.

I don't know what women think they are selling. Spending $400 a month to get sex, where I can achieve the same result with 10 minutes and the internet, without the bitching or hearing her stupid problems. I can use that $400 bucks a month to travel or get a new vehicle. Dating is a pretty terrible return on investment
