Microsoft Fires 10000 Employees as It Invests in AI

AI will replace unskilled workers. Eventually most skilled labor will be replaced as well. Then they rollout UBI. It’s happening

I guess "learn to code" doesn't work in this instance?

How about "get a CDL".

I’m not going to celebrate the loss of livelihood of anyone that isn’t a politician, banker, or journalist, but it’s obvious from the recent tech labor crunch that there were a lot of unnecessary jobs that existed in that industry.

Paid by CBDC

Participation in such will be dependent on your social credit score, of course.

You say this like it's a bad thing that economic output will eventually not be dependent on human labor. I'm not saying you shouldn't be worried about oppressive governments or corporatocracies, we should be and have made a huge mistake allowing so much money and power to consolidate at the federal level, but that's a completely separate issue from heading towards the technologically advanced point of being able to create anything we need without human labor.

Its terrible to hear anyone losing their job. The AI is an excuse, this is just a way companies cut cost when profits are hurt.

Yeah but for some reason posters on this board will think it’s hilarious and revel in it.

They are very bloated at MSFT.

Anyone who lost their job, not expecting it was fairly dumb.
