So will the late teens and early 20's be a throw back to the 60's and early 70's? I'm ready for a car with a hood longer than the passenger compartment again.

Lol, good story. Now find it for me with a link. Because I don't remember anybody saying you should pay more to support their lifestyle, which is what people like you twist it into in every one of these threads. I've seen people concerned about their jobs and supporting their families but no one asking for a handout

The amount of stupid in your post is truly exceptional.

Oh and if you want to know why Louisiana's fuel prices are higher than other states, review the taxes/gallon passed by our legislature over the years.

its a gas war. its not indicative of the actual price in the area; its a publicity stunt.

Actually, Louisiana's gas tax is one of the lowest in the country. It hasn't been raised in 20 years.

Facts.

BTW, I could never figure out how we manage to drill for the oil and refine it right here in LA yet pay more per gallon than other states. They have to transport the gas up there to sell, it should cost more at that point.

Put me some $1.33 gas Saturday night. I only get 12 miles to the gallon in my truck and I drove to Baton Rouge and back on Saturday to watch the basketball game. The needle barely moved

The price of gas has zero effect on me. I haven't paid for gas in over 5 years.

It still has an effect on you.

Factor in taxes. Average tax per state per gallon is 48 cents

I'd like to see what taxes you are including there.

Louisiana's motor fuel excise tax is 20.125 cents.

here in TN

quote:

Tennessee imposes 21.4 cents in taxes per gallon of fuel. The federal gas tax, which hasn't changed since 1993, is 18.4 cents per gallon, meaning drivers in Tennessee pay a total of 39.8 cents on each gallon of gas purchased.

Is there some trick to getting the Kroger Plus card to work at the pump at Shell stations? Every time I swipe my card it says "Invalid ID". I can never get my fuel rewards to work at Shell stations

i lost my kroger card 10+ years ago.

i always use my phone number as alternate ID but i made a few digit changes so someone else couldn't scarf my rewards.

never had a problem with it not being recognized. i do the same in kroger.

They have refineries (and very profitable ones) in the Midwest. We don't really export our clean products up there. Mainly to the north east corridor
