Gasbuddy.com says several stations in Houghton Lake, Michigan have lowered their prices under $1 per gallon, in what appears to be a price war. According to GasBuddy it appears these stations are currently the first stations in the country to see prices under $1 per gallon in years. As the situation unfolds, it's possible these stations re-raise prices back over $1/gallon. 78 cents per gallon was recorded at Beacon & Bridge Market while 95 cents per gallon was recorded at the Marathon in Houghton Lake. Prices were verified by GasBuddy after a review of photographs uploaded to GasBuddy's app.

Has the spread from highest to lowest ever been that large? It isn't close to 1 where I am.

Wait for the O and G (F250 driving "oilfield trash spending oilfield cash") crew to show up and tell us we are bad Americans if we buy gas at this price. We must subsidize their lifestyle and choices damnit!

BTW, I could never figure out how we manage to drill for the oil and refine it right here in LA yet pay more per gallon than other states. They have to transport the gas up there to sell, it should cost more at that point.

Factor in taxes. Average tax per state per gallon is 48 cents

Cost a lot to fix our shitty roads

The price of gas has zero effect on me. I haven't paid for gas in over 5 years.

Can someone quote where any oil and gas guys have said this? It is always twisted into this by other people in every one of these threads but I have never seen anyone actually say it. FWIW I'm in O&G and will likely be laid off at the end of the month. Cheap gas will be good when I have no income.
